Seeing as how the models are pretty much fully textured except for a few finer details such as the specular of the eye etc., I decided to get a headstart by trying to light our dinosaur, Reggie.
Currently there does not seem to be any issues such as unwanted creases or shadows, which is a really good sign. The next thing I would like try out is to light Reggie's walkcycle when the team's animator has fully polished it. Here's to hoping that constraining the 4 lights I have to their respective controllers won't mess up what I currently have. :)

One of my assignments for my 'Advanced Drawing' Module required me to gender bend a character, so I chose to gender bend Chrom from the game Fire Emblem.
I was really torn between different ways to light the character, so I tried experimenting with different color palletes, and I finally decided on the one with a higher contrast overall. I plan on updating the piece with more defined shadows and better creases on the fabric. I made some progress on the study I was doing previously, this time I wanted to get the overall look of the piece. My favorite time of the day is around the time the sun sets, so I tried replicating
I started with the fill colors and then I added the light and some cast shadows. I plan on blending the shadows more perhaps add more detail to the shading of the walls. Also perhaps adding more contrast in the piece. During the break, I had some downtime so I decided to doodle a little charcter which I liked in a video game, called Fire Emblem Fates.
I always enjoy having a really obvious light source in my drawings as well as having a tinge of color as the ambient light. In this case, a red ambient light. |
